Hi! It certainly has been awhile since I’ve posted on Tumblr.. Just thought I’d post a thing or two before I get off. Well, InvaderCon is two months away and I’m fairly close to reaching my goal. All I need now is around $800-1,000. I’ve bought my plane tickets out there. I just got to raise money for the hotel room and a taxi back and forth from the airport. Plus food and perhaps spending money. Anything would help! It adds up very quickly…

I’m not looking for extremely complexed commissions but whatever comes up, I’m not going to just blunty deny. It’ll be a challenge most certainly.

To start things of, well.. Hi! My name actual name is indeed Hailey Brown. I’m currently at the boring age of 19, and I am more or less living on my own with my own car and whatnot in the state of Texas (DFW). I do have a job at a fast-food restaurant, and have been trying my hardest since the day that I was born. Now, I am a slacker at times, I will admit. I haven’t been alive for very long, though I have been through several hardships and made it out okay. I am a HUGE fan of Invader Zim. Obsessed if you will! I’ve enjoyed this cartoon since the day of it’s first release back 11 years ago. ANYHOW… Below is the real reason as to why I am even bringing this up! I know, I know… it’s a wall of text, and no one likes to read. But please bare through it, it’d mean a lot to me if you did! <3 

There’s this Convention in Torrance, California that I really REALLY want to go to. Like, I don’t think anyone really understands my burning desire to want to attend to this thing. Now, this is the ONLY time they are holding a convention like so, and I’m still in shock that the even decided to hold a second one. Sadly, I could not attend the first one. But I have made it my goal to attend this one. Ever since I’ve heard of the second one they were holding back in August, it has been my goal ever since. Now, I’m talking about “InvaderCon: DOOMCON”. Yes, it is an Invader Zim convention. All of the main voice actor cast will be there, even Jhonen Vasquez (the creator of Invader Zim) himself has decided to make an appearance! (If you didn’t know, he HARDLY ever attends conventions besides ComicCon annually. So it just makes my want to go only 10 times as worse!) Just to add this in; I have already bought my ticket to go, but I have yet to reserve a room.. (Looking for a roommate as well?)

This convention is during the dates of “July 28-29, 2012”. As I mentioned, it’s in Torrance, CA which is fairly close to LA. I’ve estimated that I will need a proximate of $1,500 (MAY VARY, but right now, that’s my goal to raise) to make it there and back to Texas without any hardships. I only have FOUR MONTHS to raise this money. Doesn’t seem hard right? Well, right now I have been having issues of my own. I’ve been having to move in and out of places, almost lost my car, was jobless until recently, and blahblahblah. So a big portion of my money hasn’t been going into savings. Though things have been settling down for the most part (though it looks like I’ll have to move yet again), and I don’t have any major costs backing me up as of now. Of course, I still gotta eat, and pay for my car and whatnot. So I can’t save ALL of my paycheck. I’m working around 30 hours a week, give or take, at minimum wage. So that’s about $400 bi-weekly (Though I’ll probably get more hours after I’m “not so new” anymore). I also have been trying to help out an amazing group known as “Soapy Waffles”, and I do intend on spending part of my time to work with the two awesome and lovely Tallest, Rose and Sarah!

Now the fun part; I’m trying to look for people who are willing to commission me for cheap and easy art! (Cheap as in $1-5) I will be willing to take up on more of a challenge if persuaded to but remember, I DO HAVE A GOAL I WISH TO OBTAIN. What I am asking you guys to do is to ask around for me. Make a simple FB status/like/share or take a moment and put this on your Tumblr or Twitter, or whatever it is that people use. Even if YOU cannot commission me, perhaps a friend of yours could. I will NEVER ask more than what the stated price is (nor will I over-price), and I will try my hardest to complete ALL requests! I’m not some kind of goddess of art or anything after-all. To be honest, I have never had much experience with art, least digital, and I’m hoping that this will give me practice (and money), so it can’t be all that bad! Now, you all are probably wondering if I have even tried to look. I have, COUNTLESS TIMES, to find people willing to help me in this goal of mine. I’m not expecting everyone to read this, nor do I think this will become one of those huge “REBLOG MEME’S”. I probably won’t get many people willing to read, much-less toss me money, which I’m okay with and I understand with times being hard for everyone and whatnot. I’m not out to look for pity, or even sympathy. I’m just in hopes that this will give me practice for something I love and enjoy doing as well as made a goal out of it~! I’m in high hopes, regardless if I obtain help or not!
